How to add or delete a writing reminder
Writing Reminders prompt you to write in a particular journal. You can manage them from that journal's Settings on the full Penzu website, iOS, or Android.
All three platforms support reminders every day, every other day, once a week, or once a month.
Penzu Basic supports one active reminder per journal using In the morning, At noon, or In the evening.
Penzu Pro and Pro+ support exact times and up to 30 reminders per journal.
Full website
Open your journals list, open the journal's Settings, select the Settings tab, find Reminders, and select + Add new reminder. Website reminders are sent by email.
To change a website reminder, remove it with its Stop reminder control and create a new reminder with the schedule you want.
iOS and Android
Open the journal's Settings and select Reminders. The mobile apps let you edit an existing reminder and choose email, push notification, or both. Push reminders can only be selected and managed in the mobile apps, and the device must allow notifications from Penzu.
Reminder schedules use the timezone on your Penzu account. If reminders arrive at the wrong local time, check the timezone in your account settings.
Manage reminders from an email
A reminder email contains separate controls:
The link for that reminder stops that one reminder.
The unsubscribe link turns off email for all Writing Reminders. It does not delete the reminder schedules or turn off mobile push notifications.
You can turn reminder email back on by editing a reminder in the iOS or Android app and enabling its email option.
Reply to create an entry
Penzu Pro and Pro+ members can reply to a Writing Reminder email to create an entry in the reminder's journal.
The reply subject becomes the entry title.
Text in square brackets in the subject becomes tags and is removed from the title.
JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, SVG, and WebP attachments up to 30 MB each can be added as entry photos, subject to the normal 30-photo entry limit.
Other attachment types are not supported.
