What does Wipe Local Storage mean in the mobile app?
Wipe Local Storage removes Penzu data stored on that mobile device and logs you out of the app. It does not delete entries that have already synchronized to your Penzu account. After you sign in again, the app starts a fresh sync and downloads the journals and entries that appear on the full website.
Before using Wipe Local Storage
Open the full Penzu website and confirm that every entry you need appears there. This is the safest way to confirm that your entries have synchronized.
Do not wipe if the app contains entries, changes, or photos that are missing from the website. Unsynced content may exist only on that device and can be lost when local storage is wiped.
On iOS, Export Entries creates a .txt file containing entry text. It does not preserve photos. Make sure important images also exist in the photo library or another independent copy before resetting the app.
When it may help
Wipe Local Storage may help when:
the full website shows your journals and entries correctly, but the app does not;
you need to remove another Penzu account's local data from the device; or
Penzu Support has asked you to establish a fresh app sync.
If you cannot confirm that everything is present on the full website, contact Penzu Support before wiping, signing out, or reinstalling the app.
